Biography

Dr. Arpita Ghosh completed Ph.D (full time) in the broad field of wastewater and sludge treatment from Centre for Energy Studies, IIT Delhi in December, 2017. Before joining Ph.D, she had completed M.Tech (Environmental science and technology) from NIT Durgapur and B.Tech from West Bengal University of Technology (new name: Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology). Dr. Ghosh served as an Assistant Professor at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies for more than 1.5 years and taught subjects like Environmental Biotechnology, Environmental Studies to UG and PG Students. She was involved in research position around 2 years at IIM Sirmaur. She conducted several events (webinars, round table seminars and summer school) in the field of Sustainability and Environment at IIM Sirmaur. She is serving as CSEM co-ordinator at the institute. She has several publications in journals, conferences and she serves as reviewer for different peer reviewed journals of Elsevier. She is Member of 'International Association for Water, Environment, Energy, and Society', 'Asian Council of Science Editors', 'The Institution of Engineers'- Environmental Engineering. She is engaged as Review Editor on the Editorial Board of Environmental Nanotechnology Journal, Frontiers.

  • Her student Received Best paper award for 'Removal of contaminants from yamuna water using peanut hull in packed bed reactor'' in Sustainable Technologies for Environmental Management-2019 conference at Delhi Technological University, she was main supervisor in the research study.
  • Her student Received Best paper award for “Biosorption of safranine o dye by saw dust” in 2nd International conference on advances in the field of health, safety, fire, environment, and allied sciences (HSFEA 2018), UPES Dehradun, she was main supervisor in the research study.
